PAUL PHILPOTT has followed fellow trainer Jean Liles lin making the decision to leave Towcester and join Central Park.
Philpott, who will face a round-trip of some 250 miles from his Wisbech base to the Kent track, said yesterday: “I’m grateful for the opportunity Towcester gave me, but I was finding it difficult to get sufficient runs to keep my owners happy.
“I’m confident this will change at Central Park who have a good overall strength but plenty of races. With the opportunities that will give me, I’m sure I can increase my graded strength to around 35 very quickly.”
Peter Miller, director of racing at Central Park, said: “I’m delighted Paul is joining our training team. He’s extremely enthusiastic and experienced and I’m confident he will prove an asset to the business.”
